Carpenter Branch spent the month of August getting ready to go back to school. In celebration of the school year starting, Carpenter invited school-aged and high school-aged kids to come and decorate their own school supplies. Kids used two different techniques to decorate their school supplies, either by covering their school supplies with washi tape and duct tape, or by creating colorful collages using modge podge. All patrons’ creations were very unique and reflective of their personalities. This fun and easy way to make your school supplies special for you is quite simple to do at home. On Wednesday evening the winners of the First Pitch Contest had their time to shine at Busch Stadium! Check out their smiling faces below and read their winning essays here.
Come on down to Central Library tomorrow for Comic Con! There will be activities, vendors, food trucks and more all day long (10am-4pm). The Children’s Library will be hosting the 501st Legion and Jedi Training Academy from 11am-noon, so come on down for a great photo op with costumed Star Wars characters and some Jedi-themed activities!
Kids at Central Library created monumental pancake art in June and had a lot of fun playing with their food! The library provided cookie cutters shaped like the Statue of Liberty, Great Pyramids, Eiffel Tower and other monuments from all over the world. It was up to participants to create a scene on their table cloth in which to insert their delicious monument. Take a look at all the yummy results:
Kids in grades K-5 can visit Machacek on July 7th from 2-3 p.m. to create their very own fantastical finger puppets!
