October is an exciting month here at the library, the weather is cooling, the leaves are changing and the authors are visiting! This month, there are four great opportunities to see world-renowned children’s authors at St. Louis Public Library:
Ifeoma Onyefulu – October 16, 6 pm – Carpenter Branch
Ifeoma Oneyfulu discusses and signs her books. Her highly acclaimed children’s books celebrate Africa’s traditional village life and thriving urban culture.
John Bemelmans Marciano – October 17 – 6 pm – Schlafly Branch
John Bemelmans Marciano discusses and signs his new book, Madeline and the Old House in Paris.
Mem Fox – October 21 – 6 pm – Central Library
With more than 40 children’s books to her credit, Fox is Australia’s best-loved picture-book author. The program is part of Read St. Louis, a community-wide initiative created by the St. Louis Public Library, St. Charles City-County Library and St. Louis County Library to encourage reading and discussing books.
Michael Buckley & Shannon Messenger – October 22 – 7 pm – Central Library
Michael Buckley, this year’s Reading Pays – Pass It On! author, discusses and signs his latest NERDS book. Plus, Shannon Messenger discusses and signs her new book Keeper of the Lost Cities.
